November 22nd: interactive workshop "Cell sorting in the process of single cell transcriptomics"
Meeting
Dates
22/11/2023

From 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Location

Campus Rockfeller, 8 avenue Rockfeller, 69008 Lyon, room RB200 (room labelled Spatial-Cell-ID) - Métro D, Grange Blanche

The scOMICS working group from Spatial-Cell-ID is very glad to announce its second interactive workshop:

Cell sorting in the process of single cell transcriptomics

 - WHEN: 22nd of november, morning (9:30 am - 1:30 pm)

- WHERE: Campus Rockfeller, 8 avenue Rockfeller, 69008 Lyon, room RB200 (room labelled Spatial-Cell-ID) - Métro D, Grange Blanche

- TOPIC: We will discuss the many questions on sorting (or not sorting) cells and nuclei, from the bench to the data analysis level, in scRNAseq experiments.

As in our first workshop, half of the time will be devoted to discussion and we will invite participants to provide their own feedback and answer the numerous questions which should come in the discussion. See below the detailed program.

This time, coffee, but not lunch will be offered. Nevertheless, we invite you to continue the discussion between 1:30 and 2:30 by taking out your lunch from your bag and having coffee/tea.

Registration is free but mandatory before November, 15:

PROGRAM

Introduction

9h30-9H45: Cell sorting and data analysis workflow : key steps and their impact on the relevance of the downstream transcriptomic analysis (Thibault Andrieu, Plateforme de Cytométrie Lyon-Est, CyLE and Sergio Sarnataro, SCID)

Part 1: Contribution of cell sorting to single cell transcriptomic analysis

9h45-9h50: The pros and cons of cell sorting (Estelle Devêvre/Sébastien Dussurgey, Plateforme de cytométrie de Gerland, AniRa Cytometry)

09h50-10h15: Balancing unevenly represented populations using a multiplex sorting strategy (Aurélien Voissière, CRCL)

Part 2: High quality samples and data: from cleaning samples from unwanted “events” to preserving cell population distribution and a native transcriptome

10h15-10H40: Methods to get rid of cell debris (Guillaume Marcy, Labex CORTEX / Cyril Dégletagne, Plateforme de Génomique des Cancers)

10h40-11h10: Coffee break

11H10-11h40: Cell sorting optimization and sorting quality control (Estelle Devêvre/Sébastien Dussurgey, Plateforme de cytométrie de Gerland, AniRA Cytometry)

11h40-12h05: Data cleaning and data quality control in data analysis (Sergio Sarnataro, SCID)

12h05-12h30: Focus: Dealing with doublets in scRNASeq data (Laurent Modolo, LBMC)

12h30-12h50: Further joint discussion/feedback from the room (bench+data analysis)

12h50-13h10: Preservation of neutrophils in colorectal cancer (Manuela Abrantes, CRCL)

 Conclusion

13h10-13h20: The future of cell sorters for single cell transcriptomics at CyLE and AniRA Cytometry

13h30: Lunch out of the bag!
